Subject: ACRA 2020 Conference CANCELLATION
Your executive board has been in constant contact with campus administrations, conference hotel, and information provided by the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans. Yesterday afternoon, the Governor of Louisiana acknowledged two cases of Covid-19 (coronavirus) had been identified in the state and in particular, New Orleans. Out of an abundance of caution, and given the current situation, the board has met and determined the best course of action for the safety and reassurance of our membership is to Cancel the ACRA 2020 Conference in New Orleans.
The executive board still requires information regarding the ramifications of this decision, which we will be assembling over the next few days. The executive board will meet again on Friday, March 13th to finalize communication related to this decision. Following that meeting, we will provide more details to the membership regarding refunds for the ACRA 2020 conference, the AMA/ACRA Triennial Conference for 2021, and additional information that may be beneficial.
The executive board is deeply saddened for the membership to announce the conference cancellation. We however, appreciate your patience and your support as we navigate these unprecedented series events.
